Hot Cop, an all-new sexy, standalone from New York Times Bestseller Laurelin Paige and USA Today Bestseller Sierra Simone is coming June 13th!!!

Hot Cop by Laurelin Paige & Sierra Simone
Genre: Contemporary Romance

From NYT Bestselling Author, Laurelin Paige and USA Today Bestselling Author, Sierra Simone comes a steamy contemporary romantic follow-up to last year’s bestseller P*rn Star.

You have the right to remain sexy.

Anything you say can and will be used to get you in my bed.

You have the right to use my body to give yourself a delirious, life-changing orgasm.

If you have trouble…don’t worry, I’m a bit of an expert in that department.

There’s nothing ‘thin’ about my blue line, if you catch my drift, and trust me, I know how to put those handcuffs to good use.

Livia Ward wants a baby before she’s thirty. And even though Officer Chase Kelly is exactly the kind of cocky jerk this librarian has sworn off, he is undeniably hot. Both of them think they can give each other what they want–a few nights of fun for Officer Kelly, a no-strings baby for Livia–but this hot cop is about to learn that sex, babies, and love don’t always play by the rules.

I’m absolutely serious when I repeat my request. “Your baby. I want your baby.”

He swallows. “That’s.” He nods. “No.” He shakes his head. “I.” He fidgets in his chair, looking around the restaurant. “Waiter!” he calls to the server walking by who is most definitely not our waiter.

“Can I get you something, sir?”

“I’m going to need another drink.” Chase holds up his beer. “Another two drinks.”

“I’ll tell your server,” the waiter says and slips away.

I open my mouth but Chase says, “I’m going to need a minute.” I start to speak anyway, and he puts a finger up to silence me.

I sigh. I knew I was going about this wrong. I should have blown him first. Or I shouldn’t have approached this from the sex angle at all. Should never have let him think it was a date. Should definitely not have let him touch me like I did.

God, though. I can still feel his fingers. Feel how they brushed across my pussy. Feel how they stroked inside me.

I shiver at the memory.

He was right—I didn’t just come here tonight without panties because I didn’t want panty lines. The truth is I’d been prepared to use any means necessary to get what I wanted, including the old razzle dazzle. Problem was he razzled me first.

I should have been straightforward from the beginning. Hopefully this isn’t too botched to salvage.

I glance at Chase who is studying me, eyes squinted. He hasn’t indicated that he’s ready for me to speak, but fuck that. I have things to say.

Leaning forward, I rest my elbows on the table. “Look. I’m not a crazy cop stalker, if that’s what you’re thinking. Or someone who’s trying to trap you into a marriage or a relationship or even child support.”

His expression doesn’t change. “You have no idea what I’m thinking.”

“Then what are you thinking?”

The twinkle is back in his eyes, which is a relief. “That you’re a crazy cop stalker who’s trying to trap me into a marriage or a relationship or child support.”

I stifle a laugh. “I’m not. I promise. I don’t want anything from you. Other than the baby, I mean.” And really hot sex. Repeated hot sex.

“You don’t want anything from me,” he repeats, somewhat skeptical.

I clarify. “I want a baby. But no marriage. No relationship. No child support. No parental claim at all.”

He finishes the last of his beer and leans back in his chair. “I still don’t understand.”

He’s a smart guy. So either he’s playing dumb on purpose or he’s caught up on some part of the details.

I decide to make it as simple as possible. Speak the language he speaks best. “It’s easy, Chase. You want to have sex with me.” I feel sensual and strong with my bold statement.

But suddenly I’m afraid I’ve jumped to conclusions and my confidence falters. “You do want to have sex with me, don’t you?”

It’s his turn to look at me as though I’m playing crazy. “Yes, Livia,” he says with wide emphatic eyes. “Yes.” He pauses only a second before adding, “Do I need to make myself clearer? Because I can, but it wouldn’t be appropriate in a public venue.”

I bite my lip, pressing my thighs closer together to ease the newest wave of agony. “I think we’ve already pushed the limits of public decency. But you’re the cop. You’d know better than I would.”

His lip curls up on one side, and I know he’s considering. Damn, what I’d give to have a peek at the naughty imaginings going on inside his mind, because I know they’re naughty from the gleam in his eye. Very naughty.

“Chase…” I warn.

“You’re right, you’re right. Already pushed the limits. Go on.” But the gleam in his eye remains, and I’m giddy knowing that I’m prey, and he’s a predator just biding his time.

“Okay,” I say, my voice barely steady. “So, when you have sex, there are these microscopic things called sperm that come out of a man’s body when he ejaculates.”

“Liv, I know about sperm. But go on ahead and tell me about ejaculation. I’d like to hear what you have to say about that.”

His gaze never leaves mine and I flush picturing his cum in unproductive places—places that won’t make a baby—on my belly, on my breasts, spilling down my throat.

No, inside me. That’s where I want it most.

I lick my lips. “I’m saying you want to put it in me. I’m just asking to keep it afterward.”

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.

Oops. My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

How ingenious is this; the same synopsis for six different stories! We can only imagine the fun these authors had while creating their storylines and developing their characters around the blurb. One thing is for sure. It’s not the length that matters here, it’s the content and ooh boy, are they cram-packed with gorgeous guys, hot sassy gals and passionate juicy scenes or what! Obviously, the authors’ styles are distinctive but saying that, all the novellas start off with a bang, end with a boom and more important, very distracting. So, apart from treating yourselves to this anthology, be careful where you read it! Yep, palpitations, flushed faces and tingling skin are some of the reactions you could experience. Worst still, a good dose of snorting out loud is another possibility and could cause undue embarrassment!

TIMES SQUARE by Jana Aston

Seeing as Ms Aston’s writing isn’t new to us, we had a very good idea her short story would live up to our expectations. We weren’t let down by this little gem which is highly entertaining. Bumping into the heroine of the hour in the Big Apple, Times Square to be more exact, is as interesting as the city’s nonexistent dress code. You never know what surprise you’re in for. Lauren isn’t happy about catching everyone’s attention. Max’s way of  bumping into her left us both totally tongue-tied. We’ll say no more about that, but she knows what she likes and she likes Max. Low on angst, Aston’s written ten quirky chapters and ended the novella with an epilogue that left us sighing with contentment.

ST. GEORGE STATION aka Personal Escort: A Billionaire Secrets Story by Ainsley Booth

Wow! Us gals at KFF love surprises. And this big-little read was one of those that did just that. Not only did it give us all the feels, but we also popped our Booth cherry! And guess what? The narrative is in present tense from two perspectives so we couldn’t have asked for more. Can Cara’s brother’s best mate help her out with a pressing problem? We had to laugh at Toby’s nickname for her. Troublemaker. Yeah, she is a tad rebellious but in a lovely kind of way. Well, at least Toby thought so. What we liked about this couple is their orgasmic energy that simply sizzles off the pages. Now, whether Toby’s going to to do anything about it or become Cara’s dashing knight is for you to find out!

We’re great fans of Kitty’s works, know she’s a dab hand at exciting mirth and for this reason, her uniquely whimsical style has caused many a hilarious laugh out loud moment. Her character’s fitted perfectly into this rom-com set in one of our fave cities, London and its surroundings..To say the plot is unusual would be putting it mildly, but somehow Ms French manages to make the absurd seem real! The storyline has a strong feeling of a well-known reality show, the difference here is there are only two contestants battling for prizes on behalf of their besties. Blinkin’ heck! We adored the enemies-turned-lovers premise and since Connie and Ryan are hotter than hot together, we’d suggest turning the aircon on! American readers, don’t despair! Even though the banter is off the charts, you might have trouble with the Brit lingo Kitty has used. Fortunately, our Kindles have a brill dictionary and Wiki will help you out with the rest!

THE LOOP by BJ Harvey

We are huge fans of fairy tales and this story certainly felt like a great take on one! Now we know miracles hardly ever happen in real life but isn’t it just the reason we love to read about them in books. The female protagonist, Sez has found herself in someone of a tricky situation which is no fault of her own. Like all good selfless heroines she has a solution, not perfect by any means but a solution it is! What she doesn’t quite bank on is her long lost love turning up at just the wrong time, but is it? We adored this story because of the quirkiness & sharp wit from all characters. We haven’t read this author’s work before but we can tell you it won’t be the last! We appreciate this was written as a novella but we love to know more of the back story to Sez and Cameron; no pressure Ms Harvey!

CAPITAL SOUTH by Raine Miller

What a page-turner and a half this read is! One of us has already had the pleasure of reading this author’s works, the other who hadn’t was very pleasantly surprised. The play on a political dynasty overflowing with emotion was right up our alley, too. Nudge nudge Ms Miller, after finishing it, both of us thought what a great full-length novel it would make. You see, we really need more of Grayson (Gray) Thaddeus Lash III, South Carolina Attorney General. Not only were we delighted in his chivalrous manner, but also that sexy Southern drawl of his which had us swooning. Yep, us Brits just can’t help ourselves when it comes down to so much gorgeousness! Investing in the lovely Reese Pinkarver, Pink affectionately named by Grayson, was easy-peasy. She’s aware there’s a lot is at stake in a family considered royalty; question is, what’s she going to do about it and how will all this business affect her relationship with Gray! Ooh, and the twist was abso-freakin’-lutely fantastic!

Wow, that was one hell of a steamy read! We must say this story was truly a fantastic finish this fabulous anthology on. If you are already a fan of this author’s books you will know she knows how to write a really erotic read. This story starts off tame enough giving you the story of poor little rich girl, Seraphina who finds herself down on her luck and now responsible for not only looking after herself but also her pill-taking mother. In steps the family lawyer, Seth, who made a promise to always look after her, mmmm just maybe not in the way her father meant! We swooned, we sighed, and we loved! So we were delighted to learn Ms Morris is planning a full length version of this story and we cannot wait.

As you can see from our short reviews, we were enamoured with each and everyone of the novellas. We hope more authors take a leaf out of their books, pun intended, because this is certainly the best way to get to know authors’ works you haven’t read. Last word; Love In Transit is so easy to read and so damn one-clickable, we can’t recommend it enough. Bravo ladies for giving us this naughty summer read!

“I want wild.”

“Then you’ll get it.”

The title couldn’t have been more apt and if you like sparkly star-shaped reads as the outstanding cover implies, don’t think twice about one-clicking this young adult novel. Jen Fredrick and Elle Kennedy teamed up to write the highly successful series, The Royals under the pseudonym, Erin Watt. Now Erin’s back in full force with her first standalone aimed at teens who love to swoon over bad boy rock stars. We have to admit that it took some getting into, but was it worth insisting? Yes, no doubt about it! In fact, we’d even go as far as saying our teenagers are going to love it and don’t panic, the beautifully written steaminess is what they’d expect and want at this age. Although the storyline isn’t new, the author’s managed to spin a tale and make her variation of rich boy, poor girl truly original.

“I can’t believe my girlfriend is such a prude.”

‘I can’t believe my boyfriend is such a douche!’

The message brought home is loud and clear. Life isn’t fair and at times in all its unfairness, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. The heroine needs a bit of cajoling to take part in a project of sorts which would benefit everyone close to her. All said and done, she thought her life was more or less on the right path after suffering a loss and who needs to complicate it any further! Also, she’d be doing the male protagonist, Oakley Ford, a huge favour. Not that we thought he deserved it, yet other folks in his entourage had this crazy idea that it was necessary to help his image. Now then, it’s not often that we say how irate we get with a character but honestly, Oakley brought out the worst in us with such an ease, it was ridiculous. In fact, later on in the read we wouldn’t even give ourselves creditwe actually started liking the guy and we didn’t want to! He’s by no means easy to get on with. His personality traits have been developed so damn well we wondered if the author has had first-hand experience with lads of this age. Man, maybe not an egocentric rock star but we certainly thought Watt had hit his quirks on the nail. What we did like a lot was the contrast between the gal who’d eventually make the spoilt boy see that not everything revolves around him. Neither of them like each other or keen on the idea of spending time together, but it is what it is and they’re going to have to make the most of it.

“Okay, Mr. I-Name-All-My-Albums-After-Me Ford.”

We’d put Vaughn in the girl next door category. We couldn’t find fault with this unpretentious lass who’s between a rock and a hard place. She’s got simple tastes to go with her simple life now full of complications. Her way of handling moral issues, worrying about what she was doing and what people thought of her, everything she did and everything about her we found just so plain sweet that she warmed our hearts. She made us smile and cry a few tears and her reaction to the first kisses! Yep, she kissed the boy! Or rather he kissed her. To say we enjoyed watching their relationship flower would be an understatement.

“It was not just a kiss. You’re supposed to be the good girl. Not the girl gone bad!”

What has to be mentioned is how well the banter comes across. Flowing nonstop, it brought home to one of us how out of touch she is with teen slang. And the tweets! The formatting is the best we’ve ever seen in a book; it’s easy to follow and made us realise just how much the internet and its contents affect young people. The insight we were given in the music business was a real treat, too. It’s clear to see that the author has done her homework in that respect. Oakley and Vaughn’s story is told in past tense from a HIM and HER perspective which helped us readers engage in their thoughts, their doubts and their triumphs. It’s most certainly worthy of reading. Bravo Ms Watt!

“I’m never going to believe another thing I see on the internet,”

Title: Devastate

Author: Marley Valentine

Genre: Contemporary Romance Standalone

Release Date: 25th May, 2017

Cover Designer: PopKitty

They always say to expect the unexpected. Little did I know the unexpected also meant the unthinkable.
No longer a wife or a mother, what was once a full and meaningful life was now obliterated; leaving me with nothing but darkness in its place.
Until him.
Blazing bright and determined to bring me back to life, Lior came knocking on darkness’ door. Gentle, yet fierce; he was armed in warmth and healing.
He was powerful, persistent and prepared for war.
I just don’t know if I’m willing to fight or ready to fall.

This is a debut from Marley valentine and right from the prologue I’m dragged into the story. Totally sucked in with my emotions running deep from the words alone.

This is about Evie who has endured tragic events in her life. She shares her apartment with Elliot and I wasn’t sure what the relationship was there at first. Evie seems closed off, just existing and I wanted to find out why. What is evident is that Elliot is there for her in a comfortable silence, and most of the time with her best interests at heart.  He has a good friend and work colleague in Lior and when he meets Evie for the first time, there is a deep connection from the way they first look at each other. Lior can see there is more to the girl that has caught his attention and he wants to peel the layers to discover more about her, but he could get more than he bargained for.

Evie has a work colleague called Courtney who goes by the name of Court. She is quite the forward pushy girl. She sees how Evie and Lior are looking at each other and she knows there are hidden depths to Evie. So, with a gentle shove and encouragement she starts picking at Evie and gets her to start to live again instead of just coasting along with her everyday life. Court and Lior are persistent in their crusade.

“You never need to hide your smile from me.”

Court and Evie begin to form a firm friendship, but it makes me laugh they couldn’t be more opposite to one another. Their interaction is entertaining. Lior. Elliot, Court, and Evie share a few nights out to dinner and slowly but surely Evie slightly breaks down some walls as she starts to feel a little comfortable around her new friends and Elliot.

This is told in dual point of view of Evie and Lior. I enjoyed getting into both their minds. Poor Evie surrounded by such darkness and feeling the connection to Lior wanting to open up more but afraid of revealing some of her secrets in case it scared him away. Lior is so drawn to Evie he knows there is so much more he doesn’t know, apart from one thing that has already been revealed. He just wants to be her light in all her darkness.

Devastate evoked lots of feelings. I cried, smiled, and damn well felt my heart shatter. This story is full of hope and love. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and just when I wiped my tears for a humorous part along would come something else to shatter me all over again. It has a sweet mix in the story. Marley Valentine will become a household name in the Indie book world. Her penmanship is outstanding with her ability to make you feel every word you read, and I will follow with great interest what’s offered next.  There’s an awesome playlist to accompany the story and there is one track that gave me Goosebumps while listening to it and reading.

Months and months have passed, and I have tried to crawl my way out of the depths of hell. I’ve tried to return to the land of the living, and be the man you need me to be; the pillar of strength you deserve. But, broken hearted and beaten down, I’m a pathetic excuse of a man. There is no glass half full, or the possibility of sunshine after the rain. There’s only darkness. Strangling me from the inside out; there will only ever be darkness.

With your tiny breaths filling the room, I watch your body rise and fall while you sleep. I allow myself to notice how much you’ve changed and let the blame seep into my pores. My eyes rake over your body. Small and petite, you curl yourself around a pillow; the pillow that has become the stand in body, to hold, hug and provide comfort. The dark circles under your eyes, the way your collarbones protrude, I’ve pushed you to look the exact same way that I feel. Lifeless.

I’ve sunk into the depths of hell, plagued by an eternity of nothingness, I am painfully aware that if we continue this way, I will drag you down. The emptiness that consumes me, will consume us, and the love we shared will be a distant memory. With time, it will fade and you and I will be hollow, dull versions of the people we once were. Passing like two ships, we won’t touch, we won’t talk and we will forget how to live. This hole in my heart is big, slicing me in two. Each rip, more painful than the last. The pain is crippling and my God is it constant. Like dead weight, I carry it around with me every fucking day and I can’t do it anymore. I thought I could survive the destruction, that together we would heal, but here and now, it’s just like a knife digging deeper into my wounds every damn day and I don’t know if I can handle it any longer.

Watching you last night for the millionth time, I realized this was the end. The end of us, and the end of me. I can no longer stand to see you sneak off into our daughter’s room when you think I’m asleep. I know you hide your pain from me, and it does nothing but make it worse that I can’t make it better for you. There’s nothing left of me, and my heart doesn’t know how to deal with watching your body shake as you try to stifle the sobs. With her clothes and toys scattered all over her handmade quilt, I watch you; my wife, break down, and I watch your heart shatter into a million more pieces than the night before. And the piece of shit that I am can’t do anything. Won’t do anything? I’m not even sure of which one it is.

What I do know is that my beautiful, courageous and loving Evie is falling apart, and I can’t save you. I can’t hold you, I can’t wipe your tears and I can’t tell you it’s going to be better. Empty. Void. Exhausted. I’m a shell of the man I used to be, I’m no longer me. I’m no longer a father, and I’m no longer a husband. I am a failure. And for that, I am so, so sorry.

You are more than my first love. You are more than my last love…

You are my GREAT love.

Evie, My Love. My Heart. My Soul. My Everything.

Forgive Me. Remember Me.

Love Me.

Marley Valentine comes from the future. Living in Sydney, Australia with her family, when she’s not busy writing her own stories, she spends most of her time immersed in the words of her favourite authors.

In fact, she’s made it her mission to pair the two and enrich both of their lives, but pairing ornery and aloof August Cotton will take some work. The last thing August wants is some pushy southern woman occupying his parents’ bed and breakfast and forcing him to open up about the hell he narrowly escaped, but that’s exactly what Olivia intends.

They complete one another, and yet they can’t stand to be in the same room.

Can Olivia make this hardened Marine feel again and finally show his heart the way back home?

I climb off the bike and slowly push it up the drive before abandoning it in the graveyard of broken mowers, tractor parts, and cars that make up the Cottons’ garage. I’m stalling. I know this. I know that he didn’t mean to hurt me. It was my mistake—I screwed up. I ache all over, and I want to just melt into a hot bath, but the second I walk in the door August is there, towering before me.

“Olivia,” he says. His eyes are red-rimmed, bloodshot, and stricken.

“No.” I shake my head and step back. I’m afraid if I let him apologize, if I don’t walk away now he’ll see between the cracks. He’ll discover why my arms are scarred. He’ll find that darkness within me, and I won’t know how to put it all back inside. I won’t be able to reel in the thread that’s unraveling from my center, promising to smother all that’s good like so much black tar and sorrow. “I can’t. Not tonight.”

“I’m so sorry. I feel sick to my stomach.”

“I can’t do this now,” I say more firmly, pushing past.

“Olivia, please?” August grabs my arms, drawing me against him. I struggle in his grasp, but it’s useless.

“Don’t touch me!” Tears spill over my eyes, and I shut my lids against the pain that feels as if it will tear me in two. “Let me go, please?”

This story is about August Cotton, an ex-Marine who was severely wounded during his tour in Afghanistan. He could not cope and decided to stay away from his family and wanders around the country chasing his demons. He receives a phone call and finds out his parents died from a car crash leaving his much younger sister all alone. Reluctantly he goes home to take care of Bettina, the precocious four year old girl with an adorable lisp.

Then we meet Olivia Anders the owner of Paws for Cause, a charity that rescues dogs from shelters and train them as support dogs for vets with PTSD. Olivia comes across as a very strong and stubborn woman but underneath that tough facade is a broken past and her aim is to fix as many people and animals as she can. Olivia is very passionate and single-minded with her project but when she gets to know more about August she can’t help but fall in love with him. The heart wants what the heart wants, right?

The main focus of the book is about Olivia’s project: giving rescued dogs and veterans with PTSDs a second chance in life and how to deal with mental illness. Starting a project in a small town that turns a blind eye on veterans doesn’t make Olivia’s cause very popular. It’s an uphill struggle for her and the attraction between her and August slowly simmers. Their first meeting didn’t go down very well, sharing a mutual dislike for each other but every day they spend working together draws them closer.

The other characters:  Bettina, Josiah, Beau, Dalton, Jude du Pont, Betty the piglet, Zora an ex Military Working Dog and Xena one of the support dogs Olivia trained, make a very interesting and lively menagerie for August and Olivia.

This book is all about second chances not only for the main characters but also for those around them. Olivia managed to turn her life around and help others. August not only lost his left leg during his tour in Afghanistan but he also lost his parents in a car accident. Because of his past he thinks he is not worthy of a second chance. Will Olivia be able to convince him that he deserves a second go in life or will she realise that there are things you just can’t fix?

I have always liked the author’s style of writing. Her characters are so real and well developed, each page you turn you see them growing larger than life. And when she gives you a strong heroine, a damaged hero, a sassy four year old, a piglet, rescue dogs, an insight on mental illness and a very worthy cause, I can’t help but give this book 5 stars!

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.

He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.

Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

Shen has nailed it! If the other Sinners of Saint books were brilliant, Ruckus is abso-freakin’-lutely astounding. Perhaps I sound overly enthusiastic about it, but there is no doubt in my mind that this is her best work yet. Beautifully written words at the very beginning of the novel would eventually make sense to me, and the first paragraph of the prologue which was not how I would expect a novel to start, left me speechless. But I liked it. A lot. From there on in, it was a matter of how fast I could read without missing out on the tiniest detail of Dean ‘Ruckus’ Cole and Rosie LeBlanc’s story. So hold on tight for a very bumpy ride because the author unravels their story at a dramatically heart-stopping pace. By the time I reached the epilogue, I felt like I’d been chewed up and spat out, and whether I was put back together or not is for you to find out!

In Vicious, I didn’t get to see Dean’s true colours. He hasn’t changed much in the respect that he’s still an a-one jerk, spoilt and full of himself. But one thing is for sure, he’s a natural protector, unarguably patient and a hot-panty-dropping-problem-solver. He never once contradicted himself. He’s not only aware of his traits, but he also lives up to them…even puts on a show if you like. All his shortcomings are revealed in Ruckus and if I mentioned more of them, the list would be longer than my arm!

‘I was a PAMPERED LITTLE shit. I knew that, acknowledged that, had no fucking problem with that.’

The author never gave me reason to think he’d change his ways, or make an effort to abstain from his vices and just when I thought all was lost, she offered me a smidgen of hope. Shen’s storytelling tactics glowed when she gave snippets of Dean’s backstory in moments of either angst or when the reader least expected it. Despite my eagerness to know more, he wasn’t in the slightest bit forthcoming regarding what he’d been through. In due course, the whole truth was revealed leaving me in a blubbering mess. Regardless of his imperfections, this guy whose persistence seemed endless won my heart.

“My sister can’t be with a selfish man.”
“I will change.”
“What if you can’t change.”
Vicious did…”

I frigging adored Rosie. She made me laugh, she made me cry but I couldn’t feel sorry for her. Compassion was the last thing she wanted. A few of the characters’ attitude towards my heroine was difficult for me to comprehend. All I could see before my eyes; yes, Shen’s narrative writing is beyond descriptive, was a strong-willed young woman that only asked for her space to be respected. I couldn’t believe how unfair and single-minded they were. Humiliating her in one scenario made me so frustrated and so damn angry, I cried. (She didn’t!). Rosie-bug’s inner-strength never ceased to amaze me. She outshone all the characters in the Sinners of Saint series because she never gave up on anyone at anytime and more important, was totally honest with herself.

“That’s Sirius, and it’s also you. You shine, Baby LeBlanc. So fucking bright sometimes you’re the only thing I see.”

This isn’t your typical love-hate-love-story. Dean and Rosie have known each other for years but both avoid soul-searching questions. Since Shen made me wait for the answers; and by now I should have known that she would, to get to crux of the matter meant speed reading. However, in parts of the book I had to slow down and even re-read because I couldn’t believe what was happening. The sensitivity used in one of the issues squeezed my heart, the other didn’t worry me at all. Albeit some readers may consider the second mentioned blameworthy, it exists and I had no reason to see why the two protagonists couldn’t make it work. Only there’s that one damn handicap hanging over their fragile relationship, constantly breathing down their necks.

“Break me. Use me. Fight me. You’ve chased your prey for month. Years. A whole decade, goddammit. Are you going to let it go?”

Now for the banter! Goodness me, I’m not exaggerating by saying it’s pure dynamite, risqué and pushing boundaries. In some scenes I even felt like an intruder. Dean’s also given a new meaning to the word innuendo and Rosie’s faster than lightening comebacks had me laughing my head off. I freaking well love how the Hotholes pulled together, and Vicious impressing me is an understatement! Of course, how could he not mellow with Rosie’s sister by his side!

“My sister can’t be with a selfish man.”
“I will change.”
“What if you can’t change.”
“Vicious did…”

It’s been a long while since a book of this calibre has crossed my emotional threshold. Dean and Rosie’s story affected me so much that I had to sit back and seriously ponder over what I’d read after finishing it. This just goes to show you how much I freaking well loved it! Ooh, and the hot-steaminess on the verge of erotic is simply off charts!

“Perfect things are not relatable. Unbreakable is fascinating, but not lovable. You’re breakable, Dean Cole. I’m going to do my best to keep you whole.”

I loved Dean’s stars, his constellations and his galaxies. He took me to the end of planet Earth and brought Sirius back with him. Thank you Ms Shen. BRAVO!
