It’s a love story. A HOT love story that includes redemption, second chances, finding your voice, and fighting for what you believe in. Fighting for WHO you believe in. Oh, and male strippers. Did I mention that? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you ever stop loving someone just because theyโ€™re gone?

Five years ago, Ryan Pierce disappeared from Alana Remingtonโ€™s life without a trace. He was the one she gave her heart to, her soul to โ€” and her virginity to. So, imagine her surprise when she finds him dancing at one of NYCโ€™s hottest male revues as โ€˜Jack the Stripper.โ€™

Ryan never stopped loving Alana, and now that she has serendipitously dropped back into his life, heโ€™s vowed never to lose her again. This is a second-chance romance story about Ryan Pierce and Alana Remington. Ryan disappeared a few years ago leaving a broken-hearted Alana behind after taking her virginity. Alana thought that was it. That she would never see him again, until on a girlโ€™s night out celebrating her cousin’s upcoming nuptials, she bumps into him. Although he looks the same, he isnโ€™t. The love of her life is none other than one of the strippers at the club they are at. To say she is shocked is an understatement. His stage name is Jack the Stripper. Alana has a well-built wall up with her emotions and is focused on becoming a lawyer, but it is clear she still harbours feelings for him.

Ryan is still deeply in love with Alana and he must prove that to her. As well as explaining his reasons for leaving her high and dry without so much as a word, he’d found himself in a predicament which had him walking away to protect her. The two protagonists come from completely different backgrounds and they were total opposites-attract.

The side characters are a complement to the story, but there is one I would have liked featured a bit more as this particular person was the reason behind things going so wrong. And it is hinted that problems could arise in the future. Alanaโ€™s dad is a bit of a tough cookie. He expects a lot from her and at times, I did wonder if he was behind the disappearance of Ryan. But thatโ€™s something you should discover yourself as a potential reader.

Alana has a lot of insecurities and is emotionally redundant. I had a feeling it had a lot more to do with Ryan jumping ship. One thing she struggled with was his chosen profession and the countless women pawing at him. Heโ€™s a hot-blooded male and of course, thinking he wouldnโ€™t see Alana again with copious amounts of women around him means there are many opportunities. This doesnโ€™t sit too well with her. Ryan has his own demons to battle with his past and keeping him focused is one of his pipe dreams along with winning back Alana by putting it all right and showing his love for her.

Hot steamy moments and a fair bit of humour are thrown into the mix. Of course, we get angst and I had anticipation reading on, to find out where the two protagonists would end. I enjoyed the idea of the story and liked the characters; however, at times I felt it was a little rushed and fast-paced considering the type of story it is. I suspect that the story is solely about Alana and Ryan but because of the circumstances, I just wanted a tad more in that area of Ryanโ€™s family. Overall, I enjoyed the tale but did find their past and the constant โ€˜I love yousโ€™ slightly repetitive. I loved the stripper concept and I would welcome a story from Ryanโ€™s colleagues. They were all amusing and Iโ€™d definitely like to know more about Alanaโ€™s cousin. She was an interesting character. Oodles of potential here, so a good starting base.
