This is the moment I’ve been waiting for, book two of this romantic suspense duet by my favourite authors. And I can tell you now, prepare to be blown away by Talia and Kostas’ story.

Book one, Hidden Truths ended with Talia missing and we don’t know if she’d run away or been kidnapped. And by whom, you might ask. I had a strong suspicion about who was responsible for all the disasters that has been happening with Kostas’ family and I was proven right. I will not; however, give away any spoilers, so you just have to read it yourself.

Talia started as a naive and normal young woman but the moment she met Kostas in Hidden Truths, one can see how she slowly morphs into a woman of strength. In book two, she was kept hidden somewhere and completely helpless most times although every now and then, she’ll show a spurt of defiance. I am in awe of how Ms. Ash and Ms. Webster combined their excellent writing styles to create a strong and formidable female character; Talia reminds me of a vulnerable pupa that grows into a striking (pun intended) butterfly. Talia without her husband gets to be creative and cunning to survive the situation she is in and in the last half of the book, she becomes ruthless and vengeful. I really don’t blame her to be honest.

Kostas is lost without the love of his life, aimless in a sea of despair and it took him one year to get that wake-up call or shall I say a kick in the backside and when he does, he goes on a mission and doesn’t stop until he gets what needs to be done. It is wonderful to see how ruthless he can be with his enemies and yet so gentle and loving with Talia.

The main antagonist becomes a raging psychopath, unbelievably brutal that made me want to reach inside my Kindle and squeeze the life out of the evil toad/snake. Oh dear, all that violence is catching but at least it’s all in my head! This book is the perfect combination of a dark, steamy and passionate romance but it is more than that. It teaches us how not to mess with Talia and Kostas, the powerhouse couple who makes Bonnie and Clyde look like Belle and the Beast. Written from dual points of view, this book ticks all the boxes: fast-paced, entertaining, nail-biting suspense, romantic and unforgettable characters. Highly recommended!
